What are Remixes?
Remixes are a new non-destructive way to work with your data inside of an Outerbase Board. See a chart that you’d like to explore a bit more without overwriting its current state? Dive in and add additional query parameters or even ask AI to give you an insight into a more particular point of view.
Gone are the days of waiting on the next monthly report to hit your inbox or the need to grab a colleague’s ear to gain access to a dataset. Now you can just use a Remix.
Use cases for Remixes
Continued Exploration of Existing Charts
Remixes let you dig deeper into a chart’s data without touching the original. If you want to adjust a query, change how something looks, or add a new filter, you can do it in your own Remix. The original stays as it is.
This gives you a safe place to try ideas. You don’t have to worry about messing up anyone else’s work. You can follow your curiosity and keep the team’s work neat and organized at the same time.
Version Control for Dashboards
Every time you change something with a Remix, it creates a new version. That means you can see how a dashboard evolves, and you can always go back if something goes wrong. You can keep pushing forward without losing track of where you started.
Because you can build safely on top of existing dashboards, it’s easier for everyone to experiment. You know the original work is still there, and you know exactly how you got from one version to the next.
BI (Business Intelligence) + AI Workflows
They also work well when you bring AI into the mix. You can ask AI to point out patterns or show you a different view of your data. Use AI to dive deeper without worrying about losing track of where you were. Now you can safely experiment and gain new insights you might never have discovered otherwise.
Remixes are a way to jam on your data safely with AI. No longer worried about it overwriting your hand-crafted query with a hallucination. You’re still in control of your data, but can easily and safely bring your AI sidekick with you.
How to use Remixes
Getting started with Remixes is a breeze. Simply navigate over to the Outerbase Board of your choice, select the “Remix” icon from the Magic Bar, and find a chart you’d like to explore.
When you’re done, just hit “save as new Remix.” You’ll then be able to access your work from the Remixes panel anytime you want."
Now you can manipulate the chart data without fear of overwriting someone else’s work, and keep your new exploration in a safe place for later.
